Director of Strategy and Innovation
Sunithi Kuruppu, MSSW, serves as the Director of Strategy and Innovation for the Clear Pathways initiative at Peg’s Foundation. She has 20 years of experience in the behavioral health and healthcare information technology (HIT) industries. Based on her clinical background and healthcare technology experience, Sunithi is uniquely positioned to drive strategic innovation in communities across disparate systems. She has focused throughout her career on serving public sector clients at the local, county/city, state, and federal levels. Her portfolio of work includes stakeholder engagement, facilitation, training delivery and content development; development, writing and strategic advisory for HIT procurements (e.g., Requests for Proposals, etc.); HIT roadmap creation and implementations (e.g., electronic health records, case management solutions, etc.); strategic advisory, market research and landscape analysis for HIT and behavioral health including mental health, substance use disorder and crisis service delivery; Go-to-Market strategy, opportunity vetting and support services (e.g., Medicaid/Health and Human Services lines of business).
Sunithi has previously worked in the HIT space for technology vendors who cater to the behavioral health market. She has also served in various clinical roles with Business Health Services (MD), Inova Health System (VA), BlueCare-HCL (United Kingdom). She worked as a contractor for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (MD), where she won the DHHS Agency Director’s Award of Client Service Excellence for her creative, out of the box approach with federal clients. As a clinician, she has delivered a diverse range of clinical services including consultation; case management; care coordination and navigation; and critical incident management services.
Sunithi received her Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College (MA) in 2000 and her Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from Columbia University (NY) in 2004.
